Badminton Intervarsity and Rocky Balboa
It’s been two weeks already since badminton intervarsity 2007 in waterford has left a marked in my memory. It was a fun and excitement things as you got to play the games you like with friends that are so good to hang out with at the same time college pay for you. Hehe. However, I’m so broke now as i havent got my cheque yet to reimburse the money that ive paid earlier for the accomodation. Used my credit card, feel rich for awhile that time and now the other way round. Hahaha.
We did better this time compare to last year as we got stronger women player and guys too. InsyaAllah next year i might become the captain for badminton (simpson is good to be captain as he contributes lots more than me) and when i look forward, huhu. I felt so sad that my badminton mate, simpson and mike goin back PMC. Unless the intervarsity play earlier, im worried of who goin to join the team. This is the best team ive felt we got. Hopefully next year we got some good junior to fill up the gap. I know some good player in my batch and i hope they can continue the journey next year. Hehe. I just want them to show commitment by coming every week training. Now i know how it felt as a coach when people didnt turn up for training.
Thanks a million to Shapiq Long, the current president and Simpson who helps to ensure the badminton club alive. Guess i need to improve my coaching technique this summer. And also my double badminton skill. That’s what i learned during the intervarsity. Did lots of unforced error and giving too much chance to opponent. And simpson has rectify that a bit just that i might be a little late. Keep in mind, play low and attack!! Practice the service and return the service more professionally.
Just finished watched Rocky Balboa, what a great movie. Here is one of the memorable quotation:

So, dont blame other people. Train hard badminton and also the colleague(team). People do unforced error but we should not or maybe the least expected. I know we are smart medical student who still got time playing badminton, hahaha. I appreciate it guys. Last but not least, now the focus should be BED, CR, GIH and HDS i.e study!! You got to do what you got to do! (another Rocky quote) And that is study. Hard and smart. Hahaha. Focus focus focus. Take care guys. Nite. Wassalam
